2020 Ian Walsh Menehune Mayhem Art Outreach Program

DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THE ART OUTREACH PROGRAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

In an effort to stay connected to Maui's keiki the Ian Walsh Menehune Mayhem Foundation will be offering an Art Outreach Program for keiki ages 14 years old and under. There will be two art project types, depending on the age of keiki. 

 

Clean Ocean Art Project = Keiki 10 years old and under

 Duke Kahanamoku Art Project = Keiki 11-14 years old

 

The IWMMF will be providing a limited amount of free art supplies for the 2020 IWMM Art Outreach Program. To comply with COVID-19 protocol, this will be a DRIVE BY PICK UP. Please stay in your vehicle and follow the entrance and exit signs. Bring your own reusable bag and wear a mask. Keiki must be present during the art supply pick up. Maximum of 4 keiki art supply packs per vehicle.

Art supplies and project guidelines will be provided in each art supply pack.

Clean Ocean Art Project

For keiki 10 years old and under

This art project focuses on a clean ocean free of plastic for all ocean creatures and our ‘ohana to enjoy! We take great pride in keeping our ocean clean and we know you do too! To complete the art project, please read through the instructions below. This is your time to have fun and be creative! :)

Art Project Instructions:

  1. Look through the workbook to get ideas on what to create.

  2. With the art supplies provided, create a beautiful image of the coral reef free of plastic. 

 

  3. Submit your original completed artwork to menehunemayhem@gmail.com by October 23, 2020 along with a signed copy of the art waiver, which was provided to you and can be found by clicking the link below.

Selected artwork will be featured on the IWMM social media.

Duke Kahanamoku Art Project

For keiki 11 - 14 years old

This art project features the legendary, Duke Kahanamoku! Duke Kahanamoku is a surfing and swimming legend and embodies the spirit of Aloha. To complete the art project, please read through the instructions below. This is your time to have fun and be creative! :)

Art Project Instructions:

  1. Read through the printout on Duke Kahanamoku, the father of modern surfing and ambassador of Aloha. 

 

  2. With the art supplies provided, create your own portrait(s) of Duke Kahanamoku.

 

  3. Submit your completed portrait to menehunemayhem@gmail.com by October 23, 2020 along with a signed copy of the art waiver, which was provided to you and can be found by clicking the link below. 

Selected artwork will be featured on the IWMM social media.
